What People Say About Us

If we find your shout out to Cole Canoe Base on the internet, we'll share it here. Feel free to send us a message or submit your awesome story to your local news organization; we'd love to hear of the fun experience you had camping with us.

We had 20 scouts from Troop 110 (Mishawaka IN.) return from Cole Canoe Base, week 1, this weekend and all everyone can say is “WOW”. Every facet of programing at Cole Canoe Base is TOP KNOTCH. Our troop has been to several BSA summer camps in Indiana and Michigan and there is absolutely no comparison with the level of program you offer at Cole Canoe Base.

Your attention to detail, staff enthusiasm, food, structure and overall camp experience truly did make us glad to be there with you guys. I felt compelled to send this to share with you what a great time we had and just wanted to say ”THANK YOU for your efforts” !! The staff members are all fantastic. Troop 110 will be back next year!!!

Thanks again for all your hard work to insure a fun, successful summer camp experience for our scouts.

The Scoutmaster of Troop 273 of Harper Woods, MI shared an open letter titled "Why We Do This." His letter describes the importance of leadership toward scouts and the life empowering experience leaders get in return in a way no one else could explain. This letter perfectly explains how unit leadership plays a crucial role in making our summer camp program a success. Find the article at Bryan on Scouting.

A big shout out goes to Sam for utilizing the skills he learned while camping at CCB. Those skills he learned saved not only his own life but his fathers life too when their canoe flipped over. Read more about Sam's heroic effort on our Facebook page.

One of our staff members has been featured in the Scouts in Action article of Boys' Life Magazine's February, 2010 special edition celebrating BSA's 100th birthday. Peter Wysocki received an Honor Medal as a result of saving his friends life after his friend was shocked having brushed against a fallen power line. Good job Peter, you're truly a lifesaver.
